IMPACT’S WORLD
Saturday – One of our parishioners informed me that a group, like Seedbearers, is coming down from Detroit. They invited our Youth Group to come out to Laurel Park between 9pm – 11pm to go swimming. They will also be sitting with us a the Noon Mass. They will be leaving for Detroit after that. Come show your support for other groups like ours.
Sunday, IMPACT is going to the Rascals Game. It starts at 5pm, so come early. I have already bought some tickets for the game.
SEEDBEARER’S WORLD
• Friday, July 16th from 5:30pm -8:00pm: Luggage Drop-off Night – WE NEED YOUR HELP. As part of Seedbearers, we need you to help us load the big semi with stuff. This doesn’t mean that we can drop off our luggage and leave… because we have a lot more stuff going this year, we will need a lot more help. The truck will be there at 5:30pm, and will be between the gym and the concession stand. You will also receive your Seedbearer shirts, that you MUST wear on Sunday, July 18th.
o TEAM SODAS: you must bring a case (24) of soda and/or Gatorade/PowerAde
SODA GATORADE OR POWERADE
Green Team – 7up or clear soda Green Gatorade/PowerAde
Red Team – Coke or Diet Coke Red Gatorade/PowerAde
Orange Team – Orange soda or Root Beer Orange Gatorade/PowerAde
Yellow Team – Mountain Dew or Mellow Yellow Yellow Gatorade/PowerAde
Blue Team – Pepsi or Diet Pepsi Blue Gatorade/PowerAde
Purple Team – Dr. Pepper or Pib Extra Purple Gatorade/PowerAde
Teal Team – Grape soda or Diet Dr. Pepper Clear Gatorade/PowerAde
o LUGGAGE: stuff you are planning to wear and more
You should bring sleep gear – Pillow, Blanket/ Sleeping Bag, Air Mattress, Appropriate Bed time clothes
You should bring ‘work clothes’ – Stuff will get messy…. Shirts, shorts, hat/ head covering (protects against the sun and ticks), old pair of tennis shoes/ sturdy shoes, socks (biggest prevention for blisters) pants if you have poison oak or poison ivy (might be a good idea)
You should bring ‘clean clothes’ – Stuff that you would hang out with… Shirts, shorts, shoes/ sandals, Appropriate stuff
You should bring ‘prayer service clothes’ – Not a necessity but it gets cool at night and we often have prayer services outside… sweat shirts, pants, outdoor blanket
You should bring toiletries – Body wash/ soap, razors, towels. Toothbrush and paste, shampoo
Activity Items: Swimsuit, Towel, Softball gear, stuff for the talent show, sunscreen
Random Items: Rosary, Flashlight (keeps away the boogie man), instruments, Trash bag to put dirty clothes in, underwear
Guardian Angel stuff
A 24 pack of Soda or Gatorade/ Powerade (see list above)
DO NOT BRING: hair dryers, curling irons or makeup weapons, drugs, alcohol
Please leave Electronics at home: including iPods and Cell Phones.
Also DO NOT BRING: No hairspray, perfume, or cologne before the worksite (it attracts bugs like no body’s business).
• Saturday, July 17th: We take the Luggage down to House Springs… You don’t have to do anything.
• Sunday, July 18th: We must meet at St. Elizabeth at 9:30. You need to wear your Seedbearer shirt. We will hand out the name badges and we will hand out crosses. We will be in the procession and sit in the reserved seats for us (side note: those seats are for us and are not for your families). At the end of the homily, we will be called by name to go up to the Altar. Make sure that when we are up there, that we are respectful and quiet (we will be in front of the whole church). At the end of Mass we will process out after the altar servers and readers. We will then meet in front of the chapel to make it easier for people to get out of church. We will do the Sufi Blessing, and then leave for lunch.
That’s about it. I hope everyone is still excited to go. I know I am. Please keep praying for the Seedbearer Week, for cool weather, for everyone’s safety, and to be open to new things. It is going to be an awesome and very memorable year.
